We are not a Culver City "service area." Our office is on Washington Boulevard. This is the city we are based in, licensed in, and have built in since 2014.
Culver City, California
Culver City is five square miles holding about four different building eras, and the difference between them decides your budget. There are 1920s and 1930s Spanish and traditional homes around Carlson Park and the blocks behind downtown. There are post-war tracts in Sunkist Park, Studio Village and McManus, mostly single-story, mostly on flat lots with an alley behind them. There are hillside houses in Blair Hills and Culver Crest where access, grading and drainage drive the number. And there is a large condo and townhome stock in Fox Hills where the HOA is a second approval track running alongside the city.
The one thing every Culver City project shares is the city itself. Culver City is its own municipality with its own building department, its own planning division and its own ADU ordinance. A contractor who works mostly in the City of LA is fluent in LADBS and then meets a completely different counter here. We are ten minutes from that counter and we have been pulling permits across it for over a decade.

This is the single biggest thing homeowners get wrong here. Culver City is not part of the City of Los Angeles for permitting purposes. It is an independent city, and your remodel is reviewed, permitted and inspected by Culver City's own Building Safety Division and Planning Division under the Culver City Municipal Code. Different counter, different plan-check queue, different inspection scheduling.
Local Experience
Most of Culver City's flat residential blocks are alley-served. That is why the ADU math works so well here: a detached garage already sits at the back with its own access. It also means staging, dumpsters and material deliveries run through a shared alley that neighbors use daily. We sequence around that before day one instead of apologizing for it in week three.
Behind the plaster in a 1930s Carlson Park house you routinely find galvanized supply lines at the end of their life, un-braced cripple walls, and original circuits spliced into three later generations of wiring. None of that is visible on a walkthrough. We open and inspect during the estimate, so the code upgrades land in the signed scope rather than as a change order.
Culver City lots are tight and coverage limits are real, so the wins are almost never "add a wing." They are taking out the right bearing wall with a flush beam so the ceiling stays clean, stealing depth from a hallway for a second bathroom, or converting the garage. We tell you which two or three of those actually pay off in your specific house.

Common Questions
Yes. Our office is at 10000 Washington Blvd, Unit 600, Culver City, CA 90232, and it has been our headquarters since the company was founded in 2014. Culver City is not a service area we drive out to; it is where we are licensed, based, and where a large share of our 500+ completed projects have been built.
No. Culver City is its own incorporated city with its own Building Safety Division, its own Planning Division and its own municipal code, so permits and inspections go through the City of Culver City rather than LADBS. This trips up contractors based in the City of LA, because the submittal process, the plan-check queue and the inspection scheduling are all different. We pull Culver City permits in our own name under License #1008892.
Yes. Culver City has its own ADU ordinance layered on top of California state ADU law, so setbacks, height, coverage and parking are evaluated against Culver City's rules, not the City of LA's. Detached garages on the alley-served blocks in Carlson Park, Sunkist Park and McManus are often the strongest candidates. We check your specific parcel against the current ordinance before you pay for any design work, because the answer genuinely changes block to block.
A guest bathroom generally runs $15,000 to $35,000 and a full kitchen remodel typically lands between $40,000 and $120,000 depending on layout changes, cabinetry level and whether plumbing or electrical relocates. In Culver City's pre-war homes near Carlson Park and downtown, the real cost driver is what is behind the plaster: original galvanized supply lines, knob-and-tube remnants and un-braced cripple walls. We open and inspect before quoting so the number you sign is the number that gets you to final inspection.
It can. Culver City runs a historic preservation program, and if your property is a designated historic resource or sits in a district, exterior changes get an additional review layer on top of the standard building permit. Interior work usually does not. We confirm your property's status with the city before design begins rather than discovering it at plan check.
